The Automotive Recyclers of Canada (ARC) are a tight-knit community of over 400 vehicle recyclers and dismantlers from across Canada who make their living from recycling, and in doing so, achieve important results for the environment in the areas of waste diversion, energy savings, emissions reductions and pollution prevention.
In 2013, ARC launched a new granting initiative, Grants in Gear, which aimed to extend the environmental benefits achieved through the ARC membership’s dedication to environmental best practices. To administer the program, ARC worked with its long-time not-for-profit environmental partner Scout Environmental, having previously shared success on various environmental initiatives, such as the national Switch Out, Car Heaven and Retire Your Ride programs.
Through the Grants in Gear initiative, ARC has funded not-for-profits of all sizes across Canada seeking to make a difference for the environment and communities on a local, regional, or national level. Over $300,000 was distributed amongst the 2013, 2015 and the 2016 grant winners. To find out more about the winning applications visit the 2013 Grant Winners or the 2015 Grant Winners or the 2016 Grant Winners section.
Grants in Gears is on hold for 2017-2018.
